Examinations

To apply for the applicator examination online, follow these steps:

Submit Your Application: Log in to the Connect Dashboard and complete your examination application. Pay the $55 fee online.
Approval and Handbook: Once approved, you will receive an email with your candidate ID number and a link to the Candidate Handbook.
Schedule Your Exam: Register with PSI Exams online and schedule your exam at one of 17 locations in California or 22 locations nationwide.

Important Deadlines:

Take Your Exam: You have six months from your application date to take the exam. If you don't, your application and fee will be forfeited. You'll need to reapply and pay the fee again.
Re-examination: If you fail, you will need to submit a re-exam application through your Connect Dashboard. Submit this application with another $55 fee to retake the exam. Note: You must wait 15 days from your last scheduled exam date to be eligible again.

Licensure:

If You Pass: You'll receive an Application for Applicator Licenseand a Certificate of Training and Experience form from the exam site. Mail this application to SPCB with a $10 fee and a copy of your completed Request for Live Scan Service to get your license.

To apply for the field representative examination online, follow these steps:

Approval and Handbook: Once approved, you will receive an email with your candidate ID number and a link to the Candidate Handbook.
Schedule Your Exam: Register with PSI Exams online and schedule your exam at one of 17 locations in California or 22 locations nationwide.

Pre-operator Approved Providers - Completion of the pre-operator courses must be completed prior to sitting for the exam. Each branch has specific courses and these can be found on the bottom of the 2nd page of the exam application

Complete the required Pre-Operator Courses for the branch/es in which you are applying. Pre-Operator Courses must be completed within the prior 3 years of your examination application. Proof of completion of these courses will be required to be uploaded to your online application.
Submit Your Application: Log in to the Connect Dashboard and complete your examination application. Pay the $65 fee online.
Approval and Handbook: Once approved, you will receive an email with your candidate ID number and a link to the Candidate Handbook.
Schedule Your Exam: Register with PSI Exams online and schedule your exam at one of 17 locations in California or 22 locations nationwide.
