Your Guide to ICF Credential Renewal

Once you get your ACC, PCC, MCC, they don’t last forever. You have to renew them every three years. The good news is that renewal is pretty straightforward and Coacharya has multiple resources to help you complete yours. What’s required to renew my ACC?

• Submission of the online credential renewal application with appropriate documentation. You can access your renewal application by logging into your ICF online profile and clicking “Edit Profile.” You will see a link to your credential renewal application under “My Credentials.”
• Receiving 10 hours of Mentor Coaching over a minimum of three months, completed in the three years since the initial award of your credential or since your last credential renewal.*
• Participation in at least 40 hours of Continuing Coach Education (CCE) completed in the three years since the initial award of your credential or since your last credential renewal
  • At least 24 hours must be in Core Competencies.
    • At least three (3) of these hours must be in coaching ethics. (Coaches can obtain coaching ethics hours by completing ICF’s free online course.)
    • The required 10 Mentor Coaching hours can be counted toward CCEs in Core Competencies.

    *If your Mentor Coach holds an ACC Credential, they are required to have completed at least one full, three-year cycle of their ACC Credential with renewal. Any Mentor Coaching for ACC renewal taking place on or after August 1, 2018, must be delivered by a coach who holds an MCC, a PCC or an ACC that has completed at least one full cycle with renewal.       How can I earn Core Competency hours?

      • Coacharya’s weekly webinars offer 1 free Core Competencies unit per webinar. These qualifying webinars take place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 9pm IST. Here’s more information about the webinar program.
      • Our 30-hour elective courses are facilitated by some of the top minds in coaching on the planet. We will be covering a whole range of topics in coaching, and all courses will qualify for 30 hours or Core Competencies.       How can I earn Resource Development hours?

      • The Business of Coaching series offers 1 free Resource Development unit per webinar. This series takes place on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 9pm IST.
      • All past webinars are available on our YouTube channel. You can note each webinar for 1 unit of Resource Development.
      • We have lots of on demand content on our blog and learning portal, all of which can be counted as Resource Development hours.

      Just contact us and we’ll put you in touch with a coach accredited at the correct level. We’ve trained over 1000 coaches to ICF credentials, including over 50 to MCC, so we have a talented pool of people who would be happy to work with you.

      How long does renewal take?
