I bought my GMS:2 years ago on STEAM and I was able to use GMS 1.4 until I moved to a new computer. I will check and see if I'm still able to run it on my old PC but for now, on my new PC I'm having an error as "Invalid at the top of the document". I know GMS 1.4 is discontinued and can't be bought anymore, but I'm not a free user and I was able to use 1.4 officially. The thing is I have my old projects on 1.4 and I need to re-visit them. When I check my GM.io account I see my subscription tier as "free", but as I said, I bought the software on STEAM and linked my account. Any help would be great.
So, I run my old PC and gms:1.4 is still running. Below the image, I can see my license but it doesn't work on my new PC. "Unable to obtain a valid key. Please check your license key and then retry." I have no idea what's going on :/
Your subscription tier should say free, as a GM:S 1.x license is not a subscription. From what I understand after a quick search of the error message, the general consensus seems to be that there's no universal fix and that you should contact the helpdesk to get this resolved.
